V0LT
@V0LTTech

My name is Conner Vieira, and I’m the person behind V0LT! V0LT is less of a company, as most people first assume it is, and more of just the platform I’ve made to release projects I make. Nearly all of the projects are free, and have no monetization of any kind. If it isn’t already clear, V0LT is in no way profitable and relies entirely on donations to keep running. If you enjoy V0LT content and projects, consider following! If you really find V0LT useful, and want to help support it, then look into donating! Every single donation makes a dramatic impact on my ability to improve V0LT. Regardless of whether your donate or follow, I'm always open to suggestions, questions, and comments at vieirast@icloud.com

Update on the broken computer situation.

As you may already know, I’m currently having a lot of technical problems with my main development machine. I’ve spent the last few months trying to work out a solution, and I’ve settled on building my own PC from the ground up. I’ll be spending a lot of time at work, saving up for a high end PC, at which point I should hopefully be able to return to intensive projects for V0LT.

New Open Source V0LT Software!

I've recently been considering making V0LT software open source, and decided to start publishing V0LT software with the source code freely available! I've published the code for Hexagon, SGen Desktop, and EasyRadar on GitHub, with more programs to come! You can learn more about why I'm moving more and more towards open source here: https://v0lttech.com/opensource.php

Repaired Computer

I've managed to get my computer back up and running. However, it's still extremely unstable, as is the server I use to host V0LT projects. I plan to continue making V0LT projects with what I can get to work, but I won't be able to return to making ambitious projects until I can get a new computer, which could take months. In the mean time, I'll do my best to continue V0LT, but I can't make any guarantees as to its...

Major V0LT Problems

The main computer I use to develop V0LT projects, as well as the computer I use to host V0LT projects have both stopped working, and I can't afford to replace them. As a result, everything V0LT related has been disabled. However, if you have any questions or need help, I'm still available at vieirast@icloud.com.

New big project: Optic Advertising Network

Most ad networks rely entirely on tracking users and demanding their attention. However, this leads to frustrated users, and annoyed customers. Instead, many companies, like readthedocs.org have started using ethical advertising systems that are unobtrusive and don't track users. These are great changes, and they benefit advertisers, publishers, and users alike. However, all existing ethical ad networks either hav...

Various Improved Privacy on V0LT

I finished a few changes to the V0LT website that should improve user privacy even more. The first change I made was fairly simple. I removed all JivoChat code. This was in part because it was rarely used, so having it installed wasn't really worth it. The second reason is that the JivoChat code loads tracking and analytics software from other sites, mainly Google, so removing it ensures the entire V0LT website is...

Accessibility features added to the V0LT website.

I've recently added alt text to nearly all images on the V0LT website that can be read by most screen-reader programs. This should make it much easier for blind or visually impaired users to explore the website with less difficulty. If you take advantage of these kinds of tools, and have a suggestion relating to its implementation, please let me know! I have very little experience with this topic, so if there's an...

What is Ball Run?

Ball Run was the first 3D game developed by V0LT. It was developed in Unity, and was probably the first "real" program developed by V0LT, in that it didn't require a complex method to get it up and running. The user could simply download the application and run it! The only other V0LT game that did this previously was "Hackers" though this game was extremely glitchy and unpolished, to the point wh...

I’ve finished a new program for MacOS called QuickCount. Previously, if you wanted to count the characters in a text selection, you had to use a program like Pages, Word, or OpenOffice. Now with QuickCount, you don’t have to wait for a large, heavy application to open. You can simply open QuickCount in a fraction of a second and immediately get an accurate count of the characters in a selection. As with all V0LT p...

I've recently started work on a new project: CVOSP Generation. I'm not entirely sure when it will be done, if ever. Its a continuation of the CVOS family, and is heavily based on CVOSP Genesis. However, unlike CVOSP Genesis, Generation is based entirely in Swift and Cocoa, which means it'll be much faster, and work way better with native UI elements. This also means it will only work with MacOS, although the major...

I added full light and dark mode support to a few more pages on the V0LT website, specifically the Programs, Services, About, Team, and Donate pages. Instead of rebuilding the entire pages, I made a few simple changes that can be easily applied to other pages. Hopefully this will allow me to add Stealth Mode support to other pages much faster.

The background gradient of the new pages are exactly the same, just inve...

I've started implementing a "Low Data Mode" that will try to load lower resolution versions of images in order to lower data usage. Support has only been added to a few pages for now, but I plan to add more support over time. You can enable it from your account preferences, and the setting will automatically be applied to all your devices using your V0LT account.

After a considerable amount of time in development, I decided that I would make iPhysics Sandbox free, instead of the previous $5 price tag. As a result, I can officially state that every V0LT program is free to download and use, and none of them contain any advertisements or microtransactions. V0LT is now entirely donation supported!

I updated the overall V0LT webpage style, and divided the theme into two categories: light and dark. By default, and when you aren't signed in, dark mode is activated. However, you can switch between light and dark mode across all your devices by signing into your V0LT account and changing the settings.

I also reworked the login system, since ChatJet was shut down. Your username and password is still the same as it...

I finally purchased a full domain for V0LT! You can now access the V0LT webserver by going to v0lttech.com.

Keep in mind that all V0LT music, software, and services are still present. To find them, simply take the old URL (Ex: cvprogramming.tk/programs.php), and switch out the domain for the new one (Ex: v0lttech.com/programs.php). Everything is still in its original place.

I'm working on a new music service focused around creative professionals. All the songs will be copyright and royalty free, and the interface itself will have detailed information on each song. So far, progress is going really well, and it should be fully finished within the next week..
